Broadcast on 120 Stations
OMAHA, NEBRASKA - "David Crosby & CPR: Through the Music" is the title of an upcoming concert special that will appear on PBS stations across the country, it was announced by Michael Delich, President of Gold Circle Entertainment, Inc., the parent company of CPRs label, Samson Records. The program, which was produced and directed by Dana Altman (grandson of noted film director, Robert Altman, and co-producer of Omaha: The Movie), will feature CPRs performance at Miles Davis Hall during the groups appearance at the 1998 Montreaux Jazz Festival. In addition to the concert, the program will feature new interviews with members of the band, which is comprised of Crosby, guitarist Jeff Pevar, and keyboardist James Raymond (who also happens to be Crosbys biological son).
The program will be broadcast over 127 Public Broadcasting System television stations covering more than 60% of the country, including such major markets as Atlanta, Cleveland, St. Louis, Denver, Southern California, the Bay Area and New York City, as well as many state networks. Plans for the program also include eventual release on home video, as well as on DVD.
"This project marks Gold Circle Entertainments first foray into original programming," said Delich. "And, were truly excited about the end result. We are gratified at the overwhelming response from Public Television stations across the country who have picked up the program for broadcast. David Crosby and CPR are cornerstones of Samson Records and we are proud of our association. Gold Circle is currently in development for more original programming, and we look forward to making additional announcements on this project, as well as our other ventures."
