Steve
Seline In his position as Vice Chairman of the Board and general counsel for Gold Circle Entertainment and its subsidiaries, Steve Seline is responsible for overseeing the investment management activities for both the company and its owner, Norm Waitt, Jr. For Seline, the role is an extension of his involvement as personal legal/business advisor to Waitt, a relationship that goes back to Waitt's days with Gateway 2000, Inc. A Nebraska native, Seline graduated from the University of Nebraska - Omaha with B.A. in Economics (75), and attended Creighton University Law School where he earned his J.D. (graduating cum laude in 1979). After school, he went to work for the firm of Kutak Rock, becoming a partner in 1985 and a senior partner in the early 1990s. Specializing in mergers and acquisitions and estate planning, Seline first met Norm Waitt, Jr., when his firm did the recapitalization of Gateway 2000 in the early 1990s. The two formed a relationship that has continued to grow, with Seline handling a significant amount of legal work for Waitt's personal business dealings, ranging from the secondary offering of 10 million shares of Gateway stock in 1995, to the formation of Gold Circle Entertainment and, more recently, its acquisitions. With his combined legal/financial background and the experience he's gained in his legal practice over the past 19 years, Seline will spend a majority of his time managing Waitt's private investments and substantial personal investment portfolio. His responsibilities include evaluating various investment strategies, tax planning and overseeing potential acquisitions. On a personal note, Seline sits on the Board of Directors of the Douglas County Historical Society. He's also been an active fundraiser for United Way, chairing the legal division of United Way this past year, and is involved in fundraising for the YWCA. |
