Annette
Sneckenberg As Controller of Gold Circle Entertainment, Annette Sneckenberg is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions for the company's corporate headquarters, West Coast Operations and affiliates, Waitt Broadcasting and Waitt Radio. With a successful career that has included positions at all levels of corporate financial management for both large corporations and small companies, she brings the necessary knowledge and skill to help Gold Circle maintain greater control over its diverse and expanding financial operations. After graduating Cum Laude with a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, Sneckenberg joined Peter Kiewit Sons', Inc., as a senior accountant. Within four years, she had developed a reputation as a problem solver and became part of the company's management team. She served in various positions, including Accounting Supervisor for both the Financial Reporting Department and the S.E.C. Reporting Department until her departure in 1994. Highlights include creating new financial models for financial forecasting, installing innovative treasury workstation technology within the financial management area, pension plan management and developing accounting systems for new businesses. In 1994, an opportunity to become the Controller for a small company led Sneckenberg to join Mulhall's Nursery, Inc., in Omaha, Nebraska. Supervising a staff of five, she designed new inventory control systems, implemented new sales tools and cash management system, oversaw all worker's compensation, property & casualty, and employee health insurance administration, and also managed the full spectrum of financial accounting operations for the company. Within a year, however, she rejoined Peter Kiewit Sons', Inc., where she became involved as investment manager (handling a $1 billion portfolio) with a new division that focused on energy and telecommunications. Originally known as Kiewit Diversified Group, Inc., it became Level 3 Communications and gave Sneckenberg the chance to help set up a major transportation project (a toll-road in California), as well as set up the company's accounting and banking operations in Europe and South America. When the company moved to Colorado, Sneckenberg decided to stay in Nebraska and took a position as Director of Budgeting and Finance with infoUSA (formerly American Business Information). There, in addition to helping install a new accounting system, she was responsible for reviewing all income and expenses items for nine divisions, and preparing forecasts for acquisition targets. However, with that company downsizing its support operations, it wasn't long before Sneckenberg realized that her opportunities were limited. About that same time, Sneckenberg saw an ad for a Controller's position with Omaha-based Gold Circle Entertainment. Coincidentally, a headhunter called her about the same job. When she looked into it, she was attracted by the chance to work in the entertainment industry, by the fact that the company wanted to develop a more sophisticated accounting operation, and by the knowledge that she would be starting on the ground floor of a start-up with solid potential for growth. Sneckenberg joined Gold Circle in late 1998. In addition to overseeing all accounting functions for the company, she also is responsible for consolidations, budgeting, systems installation, and cash management. She brings a solid knowledge of accounting principles and state-of-the-art cash management techniques to her position and sees her abilities to manage corporate cash flow effectively and to provide a clear and accurate picture of costs relative to revenues as key strengths. Her immediate goals are to finalize the books on recent acquisitions and get them entered into the company's financial management system. In the long term, she sees her primary role as providing a complete financial picture of the company so more informed decisions can be made involving cash and investments. |
