Profile
Chapter III Records was established in June, 1998 with the targeted objective of
releasing quality soundtrack albums from film and television. Chapter III's first releases
were Joel McNeely's exciting score to the 1998 film The Avengers, Danny Elfman's subtle
score to the critically acclaimed film A Simple Plan, and Mychael Danna's exotic score to
8MM. Their next release will be the companion album to summer's highly anticipated movie,
The Blair Witch Project.
"This is only the beginning," says label president Randy Gerston. "Film and
television music fans will have a great deal to look forward to as Chapter III grows. We
are planning to concentrate on projects that we personally admire and feel passionate
about releasing. Our love and respect for these projects will hopefully be reflected in
the quality of our album releases. As a longtime fan and supporter of film music myself,
I'm truly excited at this opportunity to create lasting keepsakes of the genre."
The label, based in Santa Monica, California, was co-founded by Gerston, a film music
supervisor with credits including Titanic, The Mod Squad, The Opposite of Sex, True Lies,
and Strange Days. Chapter III is affiliated with Gold Circle Entertainment, the Omaha
based music company founded by Norm Waitt Jr., co-founder of Gateway 2000 Computers. The
label is distributed by RED in North America and is presently establishing distribution
arrangements around the world. |
